Eye Investigation
Refraction
Refractive error -It’s about recognizing objects or faces. Most people can see things far away or up close without any trouble or blurriness. We believe clear vision is priceless. Having light focus properly in your eye is key for clear sight. If you struggle with vision, Spex & Contacts is here for you. A refraction test is necessary to get a prescription for glasses, contacts, or other optical aids.an annual refraction test for individuals of any age is highly recommended.
Eye Pressure (IOP)
Intraocular pressure (IOP) is the fluid pressure inside the eye. The eye contains fluids and gels that nourish it and maintain its shape. When the drainage system fails, fluid builds up, leading to high IOP, known as glaucoma.
Risk Factors
- Risk increases for those over 40
- Medical Conditions: Diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease may raise eye pressure risk.
- Drug Use: Long-term use of certain drugs may raise eye pressure risk for some.
- Family History: If relatives have glaucoma, your risk is higher.
- Eye Injuries: Severe injuries, like getting hit in the eye, can cause sudden high eye pressure
Color Vision
Our world is rich with color, but not everyone can see it all. Different cells in the eye’s neural layer allow us to perceive various hues. Some people, due to a lack of certain cells, see the world differently and may not perceive the full spectrum of colors. Color vision issues are often present from birth, and while they pose no risk, it’s crucial to detect them early to plan education accordingly. Assessing color vision is a simple screening test available at our premises.
